ASSIGNMENT – ESTIMATION & COSTING (LAST DATE - 22.08.2013)



      1.   Explain the different methods of building estimates

      
      2. Explain the following general items of work involved in the estimation for a building along with the process of calculations.  
(a) Earthwork in excavation.
(b) Earthwork in filling.  
(c) Brick at soling. 
(d) Cement concrete in foundation. 
(e) Masonry work 
(f) Damp proof course.  
(g) White washing
(h) Painting


3.  Prepare a detailed estimate for earthwork for a portion of a road from the following data

4. Prepare Rate analysis for the following items
       (a)  I-class Brick work in super structure with 20cm x 10cm x 10cm with cement sand mortar 1:6
       (b) Cement concrete 1:2:4 with Stone Ballast


5. Estimate the quantities of the following items of a residential building from the drawing given below by Long wall Short wall method
            (i) Earthwork in excavation in foundation
            (ii) Lime Concrete in foundation
            (iii) First class brickwork in cement sand mortar in foundation and plinth
            (iv) 2.5cm damp proof course
            (v) First class brick work in lime mortar in super structure
